Irina is a University of Havana Law School graduate. She is currently studying at Duke University School of Law at a master’s degree program of US legal system and Commercial Law. From 2014 to 2018, she worked as Legal Advisor in Cuba Emprende, a non-profit association dedicated to support entrepreneurship in Cuba, where she assisted investors in the creation and structuring of businesses as well as in taxes, contracts and negotiations. Irina has also worked as Legal Advisor of DEUS Accounting Experts and as well as Legal Advisor at the University of Havana between 2012 and 2013. Irina Garcia also practiced as a prosecutor from 2009-2012 at the Prosecutor’s Office of Centro Habana, in Havana. She has made several presentations about topics such as: real estate in Cuba, the appeal process in the private sector in Cuba, main contracts and legal process used in the Cuban private sector, and the tax System in Cuba. She has studies in Business Administration (2013), Law of Agency and International Trade (2013), Family Law (2011), and Commercial Transactions (2010).
